If you’re looking for a story-teller in Barossa, look no further than Langmeil Winery Family Proprietor, James Lindner.

A sixth-generation Barossan, James’ family have seen it all, from the first family settlements along the ‘Lang Meil’ (the long mile)  in today’s Tanunda, through the development of the region from self-sufficiency to global industry. Today Langmeil Winery are the proud custodians of what are believed to be the oldest surviving Shiraz vines in the world, known as ‘The Freedom’ vineyard.

His is a love for the region and its wines which has been built from the ground-up.

A natural conversationalist, and self-confessed ‘ardent advocate’ of Barossa, you will most often find James holding court at tastings, lunches and dinners around the world. Tales of history, the land and the antics of winemakers bringing life and laughter to the wines of Barossa.
