The Barossa. Be Consumed events in Sydney and Melbourne this winter have turned up the heat; announcing partnerships with leading wine personalities; Samantha Payne and Clare Burder.

New additions to the events’ packed schedules of wine tastings, music and food are the Meet the Maker Sessions, to be hosted by Payne and Burder in Sydney and Melbourne respectively.

Payne and Burder share their love of wine, Barossa and good conversation throughout the intimate, 45-minute sessions.  They will direct the trademark energy and enthusiasm of each panel of winemakers, crafting an intimate picture of Barossa’s wine and enviable lifestyle. Tales will be told, rare wines discovered and new friendships will be formed.

Samantha Payne said “When you drink wines crafted in the Barossa, what’s in your glass cannot be mistaken for any other region in the world. Every sip you take shows layered dimensions of flavour and a distinct sense of place. The Barossa. Be Consumed event gives you the chance to explore these wines (and the region’s vast history) in an engaging and fun setting; a deep-dive into South Australia’s best-known region.”

Guests are invited to ‘be consumed’ in one or all of the Meet the Maker Sessions, exploring:

  • Stars of the Barossa Wine Show and Langton’s Classification:  The medallists, the high achievers. Wines which encompass the pinnacle of Barossa wine.
  • Barossa Grenache:  A look at why Barossa, home to what is believed to be the world’s oldest Grenache vineyard, produces the hottest Grenache around.
  • Dine with Barossa Wine:  A masterclass curated by our guest sommeliers, this is a look at food-friendly wine or surprising food matches to wow with at your next dinner party.
  • Barossa: The Flip-side:  Re-think what you know about Barossa. There’s more to this region than just Shiraz. This session is about the movers, the shakers and those creating their own path and a new outlook for Barossa’s wine landscape.

“…Barossa represents the perfect combination of legacy and excitement for the future; boldness, definition and drinkability. The sessions at Barossa. Be Consumed explore these ideas and get the inside story from the people who live and breathe this region.”   said Clare Burder.
